Dell Names Marius Haas President of Enterprise Solutions16:01 EDT Tuesday, August 21, 2012
ROUND ROCK, Texas (Business Wire) -- Dell today announced that Marius Haas, a 20-year industry veteran, has
joined the company as president of Enterprise Solutions, responsible for
worldwide engineering, design, development and marketing of Dell
enterprise products, including servers, networking and storage systems.
In this capacity, Haas will lead a growing Dell business providing
customers one of the most robust and easy-to-manage datacenter
infrastructures in the industry. Dell is driving to become the leading
end-to-end solutions provider for customers around the world with a
mid-market design focus that can scale up into large global accounts and
down to small businesses.
“As we continue to drive our end-to-end solutions strategy, Marius'
impressive mix of business, operational and strategic expertise is a
great fit,” said Michael Dell, chairman and CEO. “We're rapidly building
on the strength of our leading portfolio of servers, storage and
networking, and Marius will help accelerate that journey.”
“I'm thrilled to join the Dell team,” said Mr. Haas. “Dell has a strong
brand, great customer relationships, tremendous talent, exceptional
technology and an incredible growth opportunity. I'm excited to help
realize the vision and drive the strategy forward.”
Haas succeeds Brad Anderson, who has led Dell's Enterprise Solutions
since joining the company in 2005, and made a personal decision to seek
new opportunities. During his tenure, Anderson spearheaded the
development of one of the industry's leading server platforms and played
a key role in building out the portfolio of Dell-owned IP storage and
networking through acquisitions, including EqualLogic, Compellent and
Force10.
“All of us appreciate the tremendous contributions Brad made to the
business,” Mr. Dell said. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
“I accomplished what I set out to do,” said Mr. Anderson. “I'm leaving
the business in a stronger position in servers, networking and storage,
and with a solid foundation in key solution areas like converged
infrastructure and cloud computing. Now, I'm excited for the next
challenge and look forward to seeing great things from Marius and the
rest of the team.”
Mr. Haas joins Dell from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (KKR) where
he was responsible for identifying and pursuing new investments,
particularly in the technology sector, while also supporting existing
portfolio companies with operational expertise.
Prior to that Haas held a number of leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard,
Compaq and Intel Corporation. Most recently he served as senior vice
president and worldwide general manager of the HP Networking Division,
where under his leadership HP more than tripled its annual networking
revenue. Previously, Haas served as HP's senior vice president of
Strategy and Corporate Development and was one of the key senior
executives leading the Hewlett-Packard transformation from 2005-2009. He
led initiatives to improve efficiency and drive growth, including the
execution and integration of all acquisitions. He also oversaw the
company's strategic planning process, new business incubation and
strategic alliances.
