U.S. Bank Opens at University of Washington Husky Union Building09:00 EDT Monday, September 10, 2012 SEATTLE (Business Wire) -- University of Washington students, faculty and staff no longer have to leave the University of Washington's campus to find a full service bank. That's because U.S. Bank will open a new branch at newly renovated University of Washington Husky Union Building, known as the HUB. U.S. Bank has had a relationship with the University of Washington for more than 30 years. The former U.S. Bank branch at the University of Washington closed in May 2010 to make way for a $121 million renovation of the Husky Union Building. The branch will open in conjunction with the opening of the HUB on Monday, Sept. 10, returning full service banking to the more than 42,000 students, faculty and staff on campus. "We are excited to continue our 30-year partnership with the University of Washington by bringing a full service U.S. Bank branch to the center of the University of Washington's campus," said Dan Hoke, senior vice president and head of on-site banking for U.S. Bank. "The new location will be an added convenience for so many of our customers who are coming to Campus every day. We look forward to serving students, faculty, and staff, as well as all of the businesses located at the HUB that can take care of all of their banking needs without leaving campus." U.S. Bank is located on the main level of the HUB in Room #105. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are 6 U.S. Bank ATMs located throughout the University of Washington campus. Ashley Ridinger will manage the new location. Ridinger started with U.S. Bank five years ago as a banker at the Central Washington University branch. On-site banking is a significant component of U.S. Bank's branch growth strategy. Last month, U.S. Bank opened a branch at Sea-Tac Airport. In addition to universities and airports, U.S. Bank has offices in grocery stories, hospitals and on major corporate campuses. U.S. Bank has 29 other university campus branches throughout the United States. In Washington, U.S. Bank has offices at the University of Washington Bookstore in Seattle, Seattle Pacific University, Washington State University in Pullman, Gonzaga University and Central Washington University. With a legacy dating back to the founding Peoples National Bank of Washington in 1889, U.S. Bank now has 90 branches and 1,388 employees in Seattle, with 183 branches and 2,422 employees across the State of Washington. Strong and stable throughout the recession, U.S. Bank nearly doubled its small business lending in the market from the beginning of 2008 through the first quarter of 2012. In 2011, small business lending grew 19 percent, and in May 2012 U.S. Bank reached a milestone $1 billion in outstanding balances with small business customers.
