From September 15th to September 29th more than 100 Anthropologie locations will partner with pet shelters in their communities to host events and strive to break last year's records for adoptions and donations. It's our turn to give back by dedicating our resources to help deserving pets in need of good homes."Anthropologie created Sit Stay Love to bring attention to the plight of shelter pets and the benefits of adoption.  According to the American Humane Association each year approximately 8 million stray and unwanted animals are taken in by shelters across the country. Only 3.5 million of the 17 million people that acquire a new pet each year choose to adopt their pet.Employees at Anthropologie's Philadelphia based home office, which has a dog friendly policy, sets a great example. Of the nearly 100 dogs that come to work with their owners, more than half were adopted from local shelters. Many employees also donate their time to help sustain local shelters. Since its founding in 2008, Anthropologie's Sit Stay Love campaign has contributed to the adoption of hundreds of dogs and collected thousands of dollars worth of supplies for local shelters.
