Aetna Sponsors ‘Forever Young,' a Health and Wellness Event to Help Seniors Live Healthier Lives11:39 EDT Wednesday, October 17, 2012 BLUE BELL, Pa. (Business Wire) -- Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced that it is a “Pillar of Health” sponsor of the “Forever Young” Health and Wellness Expo for adults 65 and older. The event will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, located at 17th and Vine streets. Dr. Andrew Weil, a world-renowned physician, author and educator who pioneered the field of integrative medicine, will be the event's guest speaker. He'll be joined by leading physicians and practitioners to promote healthy living and healthy aging. Speakers will address the “four pillars of health:” physical; spiritual; intellectual; and emotional. Aetna encourages participants to visit its LifeCentered™ booth, which provides information and tools to help seniors achieve and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit. At “Forever Young,” Aetna will offer balance and fall prevention tips and other valuable information on health and fitness. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in three adults aged 65 and older fall each year. Of those who do, the CDC says 20 to 30 percent suffer moderate to severe injuries that make it harder for them to get around or live independently. “We're proud to sponsor this event to promote safety. So many older adults are seriously injured by falling,” said John Chomeau, president of Medicare for Aetna. “We look forward to sharing some simple steps they can take to reduce the risk of falls. Aetna also will tell people about local classes and workshops that can help them use exercise to keep their balance.” “Forever Young” will be a day of expert speakers and interactive demonstrations, including classes in Zumba and yoga. There will be 40 exhibit booths displaying health and wellness services and products. The event also will include healthy food tastings, a bookshop and other features. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in workout gear or other comfortable clothes and prepare to enjoy a day of activity and education.
