Léger Marketing's 2012 Customer Experience Index: Metro, the best customer experience of Quebec supermarkets11:06 EST Thursday, December 06, 2012MONTREAL, Dec. 6, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Metro is proud to have been designated as the food retailer offering the best customer experience, among Quebec's nine retailers. In fact, Léger Marketing's Customer Experience annual study, which results were released today, ranked Metro number one in its sector of activities. Metro is also the food retailer having made the most progress on the chart, thanks to improvement in each of the 16 areas surveyed."It's the commitment and extra effort shown by all our merchants and employees every single day that makes the difference: they are the people who solidify and promote our customer promises in-store. The results of this study confirm that we are in the right direction and that our customers feel a strong sense of belonging towards Metro. It's a continuous process and we are all committed to exceeding our customer's expectations", commented Christian Bourbonnière, Senior Vice-President, Quebec Division for Metro.Among the 16 criteria that defined the customer experience on which companies were evaluated, Metro particularly set itself apart with respect to product quality and variety, availability of employees to provide assistance, store layout and loyalty strategy. These attributes are an integral part of the 5 Customer Promises Program, implemented in September of 2011, a program that is intended to improve our overall customer experience."This increase illustrates the efforts made by the Metro team to put the customer at the center of all our business decisions. Our customer-centric strategy, for which the metro&moi loyalty program is the foundation, involves improving our understanding of our customers' needs and shopping habits to improve the relevance of our offer and the shopping experience", said Marc Giroux, Vice-President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Metro.Metro Inc.With annual sales of over $12 billion and over 65,000 employees, Metro Inc. is a leader in the food and pharmaceutical sectors in Québec and Ontario, where it operates a network of more than 600 food stores under several banners including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Food Basics, as well as over 250 drugstores under the Brunet, The Pharmacy and Drug Basics banners.Become one of our Facebook fans metro.caSOURCE: METRO INC.For further information: Geneviève Grégoire Communication Advisor 514 643-1000 Ext. 2055
