National Bank and Cool Taxi take to the streets to ensure your peace of mind15:06 EST Monday, December 17, 2012MONTREAL, Dec. 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - A taxi sporting National Bank and Cool Taxi logos will be touring the main arteries of Montreal on the evening of Thursday, December 20 to hand out free Cool Taxi coupons. This original initiative has been a great success on December 13 to raise the public's awareness that prepaid Cool Taxi coupons can be purchased in $5 and $10 denominations in all National Bank branches across Quebec. Thanks to the partnership between National Bank and the Comité provincial de concertation et de développement de l'industrie du taxi (CPCDIT), Cool Taxi coupons can be used year-round in any taxi in the province."This unique project is in keeping with our many other partnerships that help young people and foster their development," explained Diane Giard, Executive Vice-President - Personal and Commercial Banking for National Bank. "It is therefore only natural for the Bank to place its branch network at Cool Taxi's disposal. It's a simple and effective way to make the coupons more accessible and encourage Quebecers of all ages to play it safe."Cool Taxi was created and developed in 2010 by the CPCDIT further to a challenge from the fathers of three girls who were seriously injured in a car accident combining speed, alcohol and recklessness. Its goal is to promote safe driving and help reduce the number of deaths and injuries on Quebec's roads.Every year, through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank supports hundreds of organizations across Canada. It focuses primarily on four main areas of activity—health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach—with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
