The Co-operators donates $200,023 to United Way Regina08:00 EST Wednesday, January 30, 2013REGINA, Jan. 30, 2013 /CNW/ - Co-operators Life Insurance Company announced today that it has raised $ 200,023 for United Way Regina. Through pledges and various fundraising events, staff members personally donated $105,270, with an additional $94,753 contributed by the organization.Among the highlights of this year's campaign were a gift basket raffle and a bingo fundraiser that raised more than $2,000. Regina-based employees' creativity and generosity helped raise money to directly support United Way Regina."The generosity of our staff members and their commitment to making Regina a better place to live for everyone never ceases to amaze me," said Kevin Daniel, Chief Operating Officer of Co-operators Life. "We are committed to supporting the United Way, and the scope of services provided by the agencies it funds ensures our donations make a widespread and lasting impact in the community in which we work and live."Nationally, The Co-operators group of companies raised $737,549 for the United Way. A series of local staff-led campaign were conducted in offices throughout the country, with both individual donations and corporate contributions directed to local United Way chapters.The United Way is the largest non-government funder of social services and the voluntary sector in Canada.
