Atlanta CFOs Report Second-Quarter Hiring Plans08:00 EDT Tuesday, March 12, 2013More Than 1 in 10 Companies Plan to Create Professional-Level Jobs in Next 3 MonthsATLANTA, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Twelve percent of chief financial officers (CFOs) in the Atlanta area expect to add new professional-level positions in the second quarter, according to the Atlanta Professional Employment Forecast from Robert Half. Another 77 percent said they will not be adding new positions but will fill roles that open in the next three months. Nine percent of respondents will not be hiring, even to fill an open position, and 1 percent plan to reduce staff levels.The Professional Employment Forecast was developed by Robert Half, the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm. The survey was conducted by an independent research firm and is based on interviews with more than 100 CFOs from the Atlanta area at companies with 20 or more employees who were asked about their hiring plans for professional-level positions in the coming quarter.CFOs were asked, "What are your company's hiring plans for full-time professional-level employees in the second quarter?" Their responses:Expanding -- adding new positions 12%Maintaining -- only filling vacated positions 77%Freezing -- not filling vacated positions or creating new ones 9%Reducing -- eliminating positions 1%Don't know/no answer 1%100%"An increased demand for skilled talent, combined with the misperception that there is a large candidate pool, has left many employers in Atlanta with critical roles unfilled," said Andy Decker, senior regional vice president for Robert Half in Atlanta.
