The contest is held at Lake Wilma, which sits on the Pennsylvania, West Virginia border, near Blacksville, WV.  Lake Wilma was used as a fresh water impoundment for CONSOL's Blacksville #1 Mine and is now a popular fishing destination.

First through third place winners in each age division were awarded a trophy and a gift certificate to Cabela's.

Fish for Fun is part of CONSOL Energy's community investment program, whose mission it is to be involved in activities that support the communities where the company operates.  The goal is to benefit the most people, with a specific focus in the areas of public safety, youth organizations and arts and culture.

The following organizations partnered with CONSOL Energy:  Blacksville Volunteer Fire Department, West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Monongalia County WVU Extension Service, Clay Battelle Band Boosters, Cabela's, Joe Riggs Sport Shop and Laurel Hill Trout Farm.
