Great Western Minerals Announces Ian McNaughton and David Kennedy Not to Stand for Re-election

SASKATOON, May 6, 2013 /CNW/ - Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. ("GWMG" or the "Company") (TSX.V: GWG / OTCQX: GWMGF) announced that board members Ian McNaughton and David Kennedy will not stand for re-election at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held at 10:00 AM ET on Thursday, June 6, 2013.

"I would like to thank Ian for his many contributions and dedication as the Chairman of the Audit committee over the past six years," stated GWMG Board Chairman Robert Quinn.  "Ian's financial expertise has contributed greatly to the company."

David Kennedy, the founder of Less Common Metals, will not stand for re-election. "As a four year member of the board, David's vision and his extensive experience in the Rare Earths market has been invaluable to the organization during his board tenure and we truly appreciate his efforts," concluded Quinn.
