KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Business Wire) -- EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR) today announced that Thomas M. Bloch has been appointed to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Bloch will be replacing James A. Olson who has retired from the board after 10 years of service.

Mr. Bloch brings extensive experience in a public company leadership role in financial services, having retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of H&R Block in 1995 after a 19-year career with the company. He began teaching in Kansas City's urban core at St. Francis Xavier School in 1995 and then in 2000 co-founded University Academy, an urban college preparatory public charter school. He has served in numerous positions at the Academy, including as teacher and President of the Board. Mr. Bloch is also Chairman of the Board of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Trustees. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California in 1976.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tom Bloch to the Company's Board of Trustees,” commented Robert Druten, Board Chairman. “We are certain that Tom will be a strong addition to the board based on his wealth of expertise as a public company CEO and direct experience in the public charter school category, a unique combination that will benefit EPR Properties. I'd also like to thank Jim Olson for his service and contribution to EPR over the years through the Company's growth and evolution.”
