In the new June 2013 “Cable's Top Power Players Issue,” CableFAX: The Magazine ranked Smith number 5 on its Top Regionals list. CableFAX noted that “Smith has the unique challenge of managing a diverse customer base that demands all the latest bells and whistles…and [she] hasn't wasted any time giving customers what they want.” The magazine described Smith as having “doubled broadband speeds in the region at no extra cost this year. And on the programming side, she announced plans to add up to 32 Hispanic channels to Comcast's MultiLatino packages, including sports, entertainment, children's programming, music and history.”

The CableFAX 100 recognizes the cable industry's most iconic power list, ranking the most influential cable executives in the industry.

Smith is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), and in 2006 was named one of the "Most Powerful Women in Cable" by CableWORLD Magazine.
