ATLANTA (Business Wire) -- Womenetics and U.S. Bank have teamed up to offer the Advancing Aspirations Global Scholarship, which awards $11,000 to college students interested in international women's issues. The companies encourage undergraduates to research and create awareness about international business issues affecting women.

There will be one $5,000 first place winner and four $1,500 second place winners. Finalists will be recognized September 25 in Atlanta at the Womenetics Global Women's Initiative (GWI) conference on Creating Shared Value: Powering Profits, Benefiting Society. The annual GWI conference convenes international thought leaders to discuss business solutions to social and economic issues. The deadline for entry is July 26.

“Womenetics and U.S. Bank recognize the power of our youth and we're dedicated to connecting students interested in the advancement of women with those in vital, impactful roles,” says Elisabeth Marchant, president and CEO of Womenetics. “We created the Advancing Aspirations Global Scholarship program as a way to personally engage students in pressing women's issues and leadership diversity.”

“We are excited to join Womenetics to present the U.S. Bank Prize, which we hope opens doors to opportunities that will help students make a difference in the lives of aspiring women around the globe,” says Pam Joseph, Vice Chairman of U.S. Bancorp Payment Services and Chairman of Elavon, Inc.

To enter, undergraduates must compose a 2,500-word essay discussing one of three topics. An additional 200-word essay on how each student will use the award money is required. Finalists are invited to attend the conference and VIP reception. Each student who enters the competition is invited to attend the conference at a discounted rate.
