Webtech Wireless to Renew Service Contract with California Vanpool Authority

06:00 EDT Tuesday, July 30, 2013

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - July 30, 2013) - Webtech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, today announced that it had signed a service contract renewal with California Vanpool Authority, a vanpool transportation provider for commuters, students, and agricultural workers in central California.

Since implementing its Webtech Wireless GPS/AVL solution in 2009, California Vanpool Authority (CalVans) has increased from 200 vans equipped with Webtech Wireless Locators and mobile data terminals (MDTs) to 550 vans. Consequently, the reach of its service has increased corresponding to its ability to provide cost effective, reliable, and environmentally friendly transportation alternatives to and from work or school.

"Quadrant allows for continued control of who is driving, the speed driven, and billing," says CalVans Executive Director, Ron Hughes. "CalVans is now able to simplify data collection and billing of those who use one of the 220 agricultural vanpools. The report summarizes the miles driven each day of the week for each van. The time from the receipt of the report to delivery of the bill for each van takes less than a day. This allows vans to move and enables the farmworkers to work year around while maintaining full control and visibility. Also, because unsafe driving can be corrected immediately, our insurance costs are way down," says Ron.

"We're very pleased that CalVans has decided to renew its Quadrant service license as part of its growth strategy. We look forward to continuing to work with CalVans as they expand Quadrant across the fleet," said Scott Edmonds, President and Chief Executive Officer, Webtech Wireless.
