Great Canadian Gaming announces PDX Entertainment is suspending campaign operations to support an entertainment center and casino opportunity in Oregon11:33 EDT Wednesday, October 17, 2012RICHMOND, BC, Oct. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Great Canadian Gaming Corporation [TSX:GC] ("Great Canadian" or the "Company") announced today that PDX Entertainment Company ("PDX"), an Oregon corporation in which Great Canadian has a minority equity interest, and other proponents of the Oregon State ballot measures 82 and 83 are suspending campaign operations and will no longer be running paid communications in support of a proposed entertainment and gaming complex on a 31 acre site in Wood Village, Oregon, a city approximately 20 kilometres east of Portland.Despite the enthusiasm that many Oregon residents have expressed in support of this initiative in the last few weeks, it appears to the campaign team that not enough voters are ready to add a private casino to the state's gaming options. In the end, the final decision is up to voters, and the Company will continue to hope for the best on the November 6, 2012 deadline for the related ballot measures.ABOUT GREAT CANADIAN GAMING CORPORATION Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is a multi-jurisdictional gaming, entertainment and hospitality operator with 17 gaming facilities, which include ten casinos, four horse racetrack casinos, three community gaming centres, and a Four Diamond hotel resort, located in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Washington State.
