Measurement Specialties Announces First Quarter Fiscal Year 2014 Results for Sales & Bookings

HAMPTON, Va., July 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Measurement Specialties, Inc. (Nasdaq:MEAS), a global designer and manufacturer of sensors and sensor-based systems, announces results for bookings and sales for the three months ended June 30, 2013.

The Company announced today bookings and unaudited net sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2014 of approximately $102.8 million and $100.9 million, respectively. First quarter unaudited net sales increased $12.3 million or 13.9% for the three months ended June 30, 2013, as compared to the corresponding period last year.   

Frank Guidone, Company CEO, commented, "We are pleased with our first quarter sales results. Breaking the $100 million mark in quarterly sales is a significant milestone for the company. We booked $102.8 million in the quarter, resulting in a three-month book-to-bill of 1.2; accordingly, we expect second quarter sales to be similar to the first at approximately $100 million. We maintain our guidance for fiscal 2014 of $400 million to $405 million."
