Molina Healthcare Named Qualified Health Plan Issuer in the Health Insurance Marketplaces in Nine States

07:00 EDT Wednesday, October 02, 2013

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that nine of its state health plan subsidiaries have been selected by the relevant state and federal regulatory agencies overseeing the non-group health insurance marketplaces for individuals in each of those nine states to offer certified Qualified Health Plans (QHPs).

Molina Healthcare is participating in the federally-facilitated marketplaces in Florida, Ohio, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin, and in the state-federal partnership marketplaces in New Mexico and Michigan. In California and Washington, Molina Healthcare has been selected to participate in each of those two states' state-run marketplaces.

“Molina Healthcare is committed to making health care accessible to those who are low-income or uninsured. We are excited to take part in this opportunity to provide health care options to individuals who may not have previously had access,” said J. Mario Molina, MD, president and chief executive officer for Molina Healthcare. “Through the marketplaces, these individuals will be able to purchase insurance for a low cost and many may even qualify for federal subsidies to help pay for their monthly premiums.”
