Paychex Named a Top 100 Champion in the 2013 Small Business Influencer Awards14:00 EDT Friday, October 18, 2013
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Business Wire) -- Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of payroll, human resource, insurance, and benefits outsourcing for small- to medium-sized businesses, has been named a Top 100 Champion in the 2013 Small Business Influencer Awards. The awards are presented annually by Small Business Trends and SmallBizTechnology.com, online media outlets dedicated to the small business market.
This marks the third year Paychex has been honored by the Small Business Influencer Awards. The past two years the company was recognized with honorable mentions.
The Small Business Influencer Awards honor companies, organizations, apps, and people that have a made a significant impact on small businesses in North America through the products, services, knowledge, information, or support they provide.
“The cornerstone of our company's mission is to be an essential partner to America's businesses,” said Martin Mucci, Paychex president and CEO. “With a focus on innovative technology and personal service, Paychex strives to provide solutions that help relieve small business owners from the administrative burdens of running a business. This honor certainly reaffirms that commitment.”
The Small Business Influencer Awards are designed to recognize those working behind the scenes to support and encourage entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Champions are chosen based on a combination of voting by the small business community and a panel of judges steeped in the small business market, who considered the contributions of the nominees over the past year.
Over the past year, Paychex has introduced a number of products and initiatives to better serve small businesses nationwide. From enhanced mobile and reporting solutions to healthcare reform education, Paychex is shaping the way small business owners manage their businesses.
"Influencers are those who play crucial roles in the small business ecosystem, but who often are in the background,” says Anita Campbell, CEO of Small Business Trends and one of the co-founders of the awards. “The Top 100 Champions have distinguished themselves in some way. We're delighted to see the wide range of champions and honorable mentions this year – including nonprofits, academia, journalists who've spent decades covering small business issues, corporate leaders whose names may not be widely recognized but who impact small businesses by influencing the offerings within their companies, vendors large and small that support small businesses, analysts who aid our understanding of this market, and entrepreneurs who have a strong voice among their small business peers."
