BUSAN, South Korea (Business Wire) -- Today at the Kormarine International Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Exhibition in Busan, South Korea,GE Marine announced the sale of three 16V250 marine diesel engines: two engines to Dongwon Industries (www.dwml.co.kr/eng.asp), one of the world's largest tuna fishery companies; and one engine to Hansung Enterprises (www.hsep.com/en/), a leading Korean seafood and fishery company.
The GE Marine engines will power 80-meter-long tuna purse seiners. The engines are IMO (International Maritime Organization) Tier II and KRS (Korean Register of Shipping) certified and scheduled for commissioning in early 2014. Local support is provided by GE Marine's regional distributor, YusinHR.
“We are pleased that Dongwon and Hansung each chose to add GE Marine engines to power their world-class fishing fleets,” said John Manison, general manager of GE Marine. “These engines are noted for delivering fuel savings, lower life cycle costs and ease of maintenance —making them ideal for these ships.”
