Pandora Brings its Discovery Den from Austin to New York for the Holidays

08:30 EST Monday, December 02, 2013

OAKLAND, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Pandora (NYSE: P), the leading internet radio service, today announced that the company will be bringing its Discovery Den event from Austin at South by Southwest (SXSW) Conferences and Festivals to New York for the first time this holiday season. Pandora will host the Holiday Discovery Den at The Grand Ballroom in New York City on Saturday, December 7, with performances by Pretty Lights, Chromeo (DJ Set), as well as Tegan and Sara.

“Nothing brings out the holiday spirit more than great music and New York City,” said Tommy Page, Pandora's head of music partnerships. “By bringing the Pandora Holiday Discovery Den to the tri-state area, we're helping connect a group of incredible artists directly with the fans who love their music most.”

Pandora determined the artists for the Holiday Discovery Den by analyzing the musical preferences of local New York listeners. Invitations to this special event were extended to a group of Pandora listeners in the tri-state area identified as fans of the participating artists and similar artists through stations they have created.

Dave 1 of Chromeo said, "We love Pandora. Inviting Chromeo fans for free who are listening to us on Pandora in New York is a really interesting concept. We're happy to be a part of the show."

Tegan and Sara said, "We love being in New York City during the holidays, and we are looking forward to kicking off our celebrations at the Holiday Discovery Den with Chromeo and Pretty Lights, and of course our fans who listen to us on Pandora!"

Admission to the Pandora Holiday Discovery Den is free with an advance RSVP, and attendees will be treated to custom activations, including a photo booth and giveaways, from sponsors Glade, Roku, Canon, RetailMeNot, TBS's Cougar Town and Clinique. Pandora listeners can also enjoy a special “Glade Discover the Holidays” station, with exclusive performances of well-known holiday songs by a variety of artists:

Pandora (NYSE: P) gives people music and comedy they love anytime, anywhere, through connected devices.
