Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation and the Berlin Transport Authority (BVG) are extending their long-standing and successful collaboration. Together, Bombardier and BVG are ensuring the material supply for the 150 GT6 trams of BVG.

Klaus-Dietrich Matschke, Executive Director for trams at BVG, said: "BVG and Bombardier are contributing to the reliability of tram operations in Berlin through the long-term availability of original parts for our tram fleet. In this way Bombardier is also supporting BVG's strategic objective to attract more satisfied passengers."

The material requirements planning for more than 400 spare parts includes the inventory management for corrective material, supplier management, component repairs, obsolescence management and the warehouse management in the BVG depots Berlin Lichtenberg and Berlin Marzahn, as well as the transport and logistics of these spare parts. In doing so, Bombardier guarantees material availability of 98% for critical spare parts.
