MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 29, 2013) - Gildan Activewear Inc. (TSX:GIL)(NYSE:GIL) today announced the appointment of Mr. Russ Hagey to its Board of Directors, effective Friday, November 1st, 2013.
Mr. Hagey is a Senior Partner and the Worldwide Chief Talent Officer of Bain & Company, Inc., one of the world's leading management consulting firms. He joined the firm in 1982 and has worked in its San Francisco, Los Angeles, Zurich, and Amsterdam offices. As Chief Talent Officer, Mr. Hagey oversees Bain's recruiting, professional development, training, and human resources functions for nearly 6,000 global professionals and staff across 50 offices in 32 countries. He also has client leadership responsibilities in the areas of consumer products and health-care services. Mr. Hagey holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He also serves on a number of community and not-for-profit boards.
With the addition of Mr. Hagey, Gildan's Board of Directors now comprises ten members, of which nine are independent of management.
