Medical Facilities Corporation announces January Dividend

TORONTO, Jan. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - Medical Facilities Corporation (TSX: DR) ("Medical Facilities" or the "Company") announced today that a cash dividend payment of Cdn$0.09375 per Common Share will be payable on February 18, 2014 to holders of record of Common Shares at the close of business on January 31, 2014.

The ex-dividend date for this distribution will be January 29, 2014. Medical Facilities designates this dividend to be an "eligible dividend" pursuant to subsection 89(14) of the Income Tax Act (Canada) and its equivalent in any provinces of Canada.

Medical Facilities owns controlling interests in five specialty surgical hospitals located in South Dakota, Arkansas and Oklahoma, as well as an ambulatory surgery center in California. The specialty hospitals perform scheduled surgical, imaging, diagnostic and other procedures, including primary and urgent care, and derive their revenue from the fees charged for the use of their facilities. The ambulatory surgery center specializes in outpatient surgical procedures, with patient stays of less than 24 hours. Medical Facilities is structured so that a majority of its free cash flow from operations is distributed to the holders of its Common Shares in the form of dividends.
