Sandvine Receives $5 Million Expansion Order from Cable Operator

07:00 EST Monday, February 03, 2014

WATERLOO, ON, Feb. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has received a follow-on order in excess of $5 million from a leading North American cable operator that has been a Sandvine customer since 2003. The order represents ongoing expansion of the operator's deployment of Business Intelligence and Traffic Optimization solutions. Sandvine expects to recognize most of the associated revenue in the first half of fiscal 2014.

Sandvine has been selling network policy control solutions to the cable market since 2003. While the company's markets have expanded significantly to include communications service providers that offer Internet access through wireless and DSL technologies, Sandvine has consistently maintained its market share lead in cable. Today, Sandvine's solutions are trusted by 7 of the top 10 cable MSOs in North America (including the largest cable operator in the world), representing 74% of the region's cable subscribers.

"Recently, our Network Analytics product has been a key component in enhancing the North American cable market's understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by popular video applications like Netflix and Hulu. With over 10 years of intimate cable market knowledge we remain committed to continuing this unmatched history of innovation," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine's COO, Sales and Global Services.
