SEATTLE, Sept. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) opened the doors to its new, relocated store at Americana at Brand today in Glendale, Calif. The 135,000 square-foot store features a fresh interior design concept, brand new farm-to-table restaurant Bar Verde, updated beauty experience, and an expanded selection of designer fashion brands. The original Nordstrom at Glendale Galleria opened in 1983.

"When our customers walk through the doors for the first time we hope they'll love the new store design and enhanced merchandise selection we can now offer them."
The three-level store offers customers new departments featuring exciting brands including: TOPSHOP and TOPMAN for Nordstrom boutiques (the first in the Los Angeles area); a via C department offering fashion from emerging and of the moment designers like Rachel Zoe, Helmut Lang, Current Elliott and Rag & Bone; and a brand-new cosmetics experience that now includes brands like Aqua di Parma, Trish McEvoy and Jo Malone.
In addition to the great selection of fashion apparel, accessories, cosmetics and shoes, Nordstrom at Americana at Brand offers a number of services to enhance the shopping experience. These amenities include an in-store alterations and tailor shop, certified bra and prosthesis fitters, complimentary gift boxes and Personal Stylist ? a complimentary wardrobe and shopping service. The store will also feature two food offerings; Bar Verde (also new), a full-service farm-to-table restaurant, and the Ebar which offers customers handcrafted coffee beverages.
Opening day started at 8 a.m. with Nordstrom hosting a Beauty Bash just outside the store's main entrance on the lawn in front of the lifestyle complex's majestic fountain. Shoppers enjoyed complimentary consultations and learned about the latest trends in makeup and fragrance. When the store opened at 10 a.m., almost 400 excited employees cheered enthusiastically to welcome customers through the doors.
Earlier in the week, Nordstrom underwrote and held a sold-out opening gala with more than 1,000 customers in attendance that raised $107,600 for two local nonprofits: Hillsides and Ascencia. Nicole Richie served as the event's honorary gala chairperson.
