Pillsbury Toaster Strudel Gets Fans Up And Out Of Bed By Selecting Morning Wishes To Make A Reality

09:00 EST Thursday, December 12, 2013

Getting Your Morning Moving Has Never Been More Fun, Especially With Country Music Star Jerrod Niemann

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pillsbury Toaster Strudel today announced its "Morning Movers" activation, calling fans to reveal what wish would get their mornings going and started off right for a chance to have it brought to life. Toaster Strudel is teaming up with folks like country music star Jerrod Niemann and others, to make morning wishes come true.

"Morning Movers" is kicking off with two wishes found through listening on Twitter. Jerrod Niemann made a Texas girl's morning wish a reality by waking her up with a morning serenade. To participate, fans simply go to starting at 4:30 p.m. CST today to submit their morning wishes, and Toaster Strudel might turn their dreams into reality.

"It's really cool that Toaster Strudel is listening to fans and letting them voice their real, personal requests," said Jerrod Niemann. "I am excited to surprise a fan with her morning wish of a serenade."

Celeste in San Antonio tweeted, "@Jerrod Niemann, good morning. It's 6:40 am, do you think the neighbors would hate me if I blasted your music right now?" Toaster Strudel saw this tweet and asked Jerrod Niemann to stop by Celeste's house for a morning concert. With the help of her mom and Niemann, her morning wish came true.

"Mornings can be busy and hectic, and our goal is to help mom get her family moving with a warm, delicious Toaster Strudel," says John Williams, marketing manager for Pillsbury Toaster Strudel. "This holiday season, the 'Morning Movers' activation gives us an opportunity to help Mom get her kids' mornings started in a fun and exciting way by granting some fun morning wishes submitted on Facebook."

Additionally, Toaster Strudel worked with a mom in Portland, Ore. to make her daughter's "tweet wish" come true. The tweet was "Let's replace school buses with limos. Riding in a limo to school? That's some motivation to get out of bed." Instead of a yellow school bus showing up for the morning ride, Toaster Strudel sent Hummer stretch limousines to their home to liven up the morning routine for 14-year-old Tori and several of her friends.

Fans can submit their wishes through January 31, 2014 for a chance to be selected.

"Helping to make this wish come true for my daughter has been such a thrilling experience," said Tina Tishendorf, Portland-area mom. "As a mom of six children, I experience the morning battle on a daily basis, and it was refreshing to get the day started in a fun way with the help of Toaster Strudel!"

After years of traditional advertising, Toaster Strudel has switched gears in 2013 to become more relevant to moms and millennials by introducing a fun TV advertising campaign with a new brand spokescharacter named Hans Strudel, launching its first social media presence on Facebook and Twitter and bringing fans the Strudel Dudeler, a machine powered by tweets that translated positive morning messages into artwork on a Toaster Strudel.
