Company Also Ranked Highest In All Regions of U.S. in Study That Measured Call, Messaging and Data Quality

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the Southwest Region in the J.D. Power 2014 Wireless Network Quality Study, Volume 1, issued on March 6, 2014. The Southwest Region includes Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Missouri.

The J.D. Power study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers in its survey of wireless subscribers about calling, messaging and data service between July and December 2013. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless, for the second consecutive time, was ranked highest among national wireless companies in all six regions, including the Southwest Region.

"The results of the J.D. Power study help to affirm that Verizon Wireless is committed to providing customers in Arkansas and states across the country, with the most reliable wireless network experience," said Kristi Crum, region president of Verizon Wireless in Arkansas. "We are committed to providing our customers with the best wireless network."

Verizon Wireless operates the nation's largest 4G LTE network, which is twice the size geographically of any other 4G LTE network in the U.S. Available to nearly 305 million people in more than 500 markets across the country, the Verizon Wireless network covers more than 97 percent of the U.S. population. The company continues to build out its network to meet customer demand with the introduction of new technologies such as the deployment of AWS spectrum in 2013.

As part of its commitment to ensure its customers have a powerful, reliable network, Verizon Wireless invested $9.4 billion in its network last year.  In Arkansas, the company invested more than $67 million in its wireless network in 2013.
