DALLAS, March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With Opening Day just around the corner, Match.com, the world's largest dating website, and MLB.com are teaming up to give singles another reason to cheer this baseball season. This partnership will be the first time baseball fans can connect online with other singles through 29 different fan pages for the duration of the 2014 MLB season, powered by Match. Also, by adding their favorite MLB team logo to their Match profile, members can now search directly for other singles that have the same affinity for a team.
"Partnering with Match.com provides a fun new way for fans to show their favorite team allegiances within their personal Match profiles and connect with likeminded fans," said Noah Garden, EVP, Revenue, MLB.com.
"There is no better way to bring singles from around the country together than through America's favorite pastime," said Amarnath Thombre, President of Match.com. "With a quarter of our members self-identifying as baseball fans, this new partnership will continue to increase opportunities for singles to make a connection with other members."
Beginning today, single baseball fans can visit match.com/mlb to connect with each other and MLB.com will promote these co-branded pages, powered by Match. For more information, visit http://blog.match.com/mlb.
