Starbucks recently announced changes to its rewards program, and some people aren't happy. While it's true that those who were gaming the current system will lose out (they were buying lower cost drinks to earn a free reward that was used for redeeming a higher priced item), the new system actually works better for those who are always spending a lot on each trip.
