Blair: Lights Out Add to ...

Marco Scutaro will make his first start in left field Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers, marking the 12th time in his career that the versatile infielder has started at the position.

He played in six games in LF in 2007 for the Oakland Athletics, but when I asked him when was the last time he'd played the position in a dome he said: "I don't know ... years ago."

Hmm. Scutaro started so that Shannon Stewart's aching groin got the night off. John McDonald started at third base and Rod Barajas was given squatter's rights behind home plate against lefty Kason Gabbard.

Scutaro took fly balls in left field during batting practice and gave a ... well, let's just say it was hardly a thumbs-up analysis of the situation.

"The lights are the problem," Scutaro said, pointing to the private suit level at the Rogers Centre. I told him it was OK, that Jesse Litsch was going to pitch a no-hitter. No response.
