AMY VERNER

Don't bother asking what the guys from Il Divo are wearing. The answer will inevitably be: Armani.
As far as clothing sponsors go, it doesn't get much better than Italy's numero uno designer. Coinciding with the poperatic foursome's fourth album, The Promise, and upcoming world tour, Giorgio Armani announced that he would return as their official outfitter.
This means that Carlos Marin, Sebastien Izambard, Urs Buhler and David Miller have every possible permutation of elegant formal wear.
For our photo shoot in the model suite of the soon-to-be-built Four Seasons Private Residences, they showed up with a carload of garment bags.
There were crisp white shirts, palettes of inky blue and dark grey, satiny ties, pocket squares, sparkle detailing, Turbull & Asser knot cufflinks and a range of gorgeous tuxedos.
Izambard, a pop star in his native France, says, “We try to match the way we dress to our music.”
“It's fantastic men's fashion,” echoed Marin, whose tan lends itself to white shirts, typically unbuttoned.
Indeed, Il Divo never veers far from debonair. As Miller said, “Consistency is the hallmark of style.”
As for personal style, Miller seemed to speak for them all. “I would call my taste eclectic at best. A lot of the stuff in my wardrobe is previous seasons of suits that I wear with jeans and boots.”
Buhler added, “I like to wear things that not everyone else wears.”
But message tees are absolutely off-limits. “There's a reason why some people design clothes and others are poets.”
