REBECCA ECKLER

Much like Madonna in the eighties, who made wearing bras as clothes cool, Angelina Jolie may have started a trend in the mothering world with her People magazine cover a few months ago. Sure, we thought Shiloh was cute and all, but what we really took notice of was Angelina's pretty nursing bra sticking out in full view.
Forget Yummy Mummy. When it comes to maternity and nursing wear, this may be the age of the Slutty Mommy and Mom-to-Be.
“Now, mommies wear sexy nursing lingerie from Agent Provocateur and Condessa, not Wonder Bra,” says Shuana Greer, celebrity-watcher and founder of celebritybabyclothes.com. “Celebrities dressing sexy isn't new, but celebrity moms showing up in fishnets and bikinis at Hollywood hot spots, like Britney did, or Gwen Stefani photographed holding her son Kingston baring her entire stomach is a spectacle we can't get enough of.”
And you thought lingerie was a great gift for Valentine's Day? Men, take note: The lacy things out there for pregnant gals and those who just had a baby are clearly meant to light a fire in the bedroom.
At Blossommaternity.com, maternity lingerie includes the superevocative Passion Spice baby doll in hot red, and the Passion Spice satin lace-up cami in black. There is even a black lace nursing bra. At babiesnbellies.com (“Crazy, Sexy, Cool Maternity: Always Hot … Always You”) you can also find belly button rings for bumps. Is it sexy to have a belly ring while eight months pregnant?
Apparently, some think so – but the form-fitting “sexy mama cami” and the Giselle baby doll set need no extra accessories to be hot (one can't help but picture all these maternity nighties fitting in perfectly at Hugh Hefner's pajama parties at his mansion, that's how sexy they are). At Bellamaterna.com, the “sexy nursing lounge dress” is meant for “in or out of bed.” It may be a “nursing gown,” but it's definitely meant to show off your cleavage – and not for your baby to get the goods. The site also offers low-riding maternity thongs and low-riding boy shorts. Why should your underwear choice change, after all, just because there's a bun in the oven?
“No pregnant woman wants to be referred to as slutty,” says Eva Salem, the owner of the popular Belly Maternity in Toronto. “But maternity wear is definitely bringing sexy back, to steal from Justin Timberlake. Maternity clothes have definitely gotten sexier because they are now being cut properly. They hug in all the right places.”
Not everyone is pleased with the new look. “I actually found this to be a big problem this time around,” says Cindy Feldman, who is having her second baby this week. “All of the maternity clothes now are very form-fitted and seem to show so much cleavage. I had to buy the largest size when I was only four months pregnant this time, because everything is cut so tight and small nowadays and I didn't feel comfortable wearing it.”
Of course, if you really don't feel comfortable with your bump exposed, you can visit stellamaternity.com and purchase the tank top that reads, “I doubt this is the threesome husbands have in mind.” As Paris Hilton would say, “That's hot”
