The Buy: Tiffany Keys

Globe and Mail Update

While the current trippy animated movie Coraline should have taught us all that cool vintage-style keys will only open secret passageways that lead to terrible trouble, it appears Tiffany & Co wasn't listening. Their new collection of key charms for necklaces is their most charming yet, evoking the romance of old-fashioned skeleton keys re-imagined in yellow or white gold (from $850) platinum with diamonds (from $3,100) or sterling silver (from $230), all resting enigmatically upon one's heaving bosom. Inspired by iconic pendants from the T & Co. archives and the days of yore when they were used to unlock diaries, steamer trunks and hearts, the keys come topped with clovers, medallion and flower shapes, chains sold separately. Now if only my car keys were as chic.
