The anti-Sony Twitter tirade commenced late Wednesday courtesy of Rob Lowe (<a href="https://twitter.com/RobLowe%20">@RobLowe</a>) – who appears opposite Seth Rogen and James Franco in the controversial comedy:</div><div>Wow. Everyone caved. The hackers won. An utter and complete victory for them. Wow.Rob Lowe</div><div>Shortly after, Lowe reconfirmed his feelings: </div><div>Saw @Sethrogen at JFK. Both of us have never seen or heard of anything like this. Hollywood has done Neville Chamberlain proud today.Rob Lowe</div><div>(According to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2014/12/17/rob-lowe-sony-hitler-tweet-the-interview-neville-chamberlain/">TMZ</a> and other outlets, Lowe’s Chamberlain reference has to do with the former British prime minister conceding Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany in 1938.)</div><div>Around the same time, actor Steve Carell (<a href="https://twitter.com/SteveCarell%20">@SteveCarell</a>) weighed in on the decision:</div><div>Sad day for creative expression. #feareatsthesoulSteve Carell</div><div>Chaplin https://t.co/LE5w3f3HAsSteve Carell</div><div>Director Mark Romanek (<a href="https://twitter.com/markromanek">@markromanek</a>) struck a similar tone:</div><div>Released by United Artists, March 1941. https://t.co/cXuLoxdivxmark romanek</div><div>Actress Mia Farrow (<a href="https://twitter.com/MiaFarrow%20">@MiaFarrow</a>), meanwhile, had this to say:</div><div>Sony is a disgrace. Sickening.mia farrow</div><div>Writer-director Judd Apatow's take (<a href="https://twitter.com/JuddApatow%20">@JuddApatow</a>):</div><div>This only guarantees that this movie will be seen by more people on Earth than it would have before. Legally or illegally all will see it.Judd Apatow</div><div>Comedic actor Ben Stiller (<a href="https://twitter.com/RedHourBen%20">@RedHourBen</a>) got serious:</div><div>Really hard to believe this is the response to a threat to freedom of expression here in America. #TheInterviewBen Stiller</div><div>And comedian Patton Oswalt (<a href="https://twitter.com/pattonoswalt%20">@pattonoswalt</a>) wasn't in any happier a mood:</div><div>All joking aside, we just gave a comfy foothold to censorship & it doesn't get any better from this point on. #TheInterviewPatton Oswalt</div><div>Canadian author and social blogger Kelly Oxford (<a href="https://twitter.com/kellyoxford%20">@kellyoxford</a>) spoke her mind:</div><div>I am so mad the hackers won. This precedent is scary and disappointing on so many levels.kelly oxford</div><div>A similar sentiment was expressed by English author Neil Gaiman (<a href="https://twitter.com/neilhimself%20">@neilhimself</a>):</div><div>So SONY fight back by canceling The Interview, thus proving to the hackers that hacking & threats work very well? That may prove an error.Neil Gaiman</div><div>Not surprisingly, several celebrities attempted to address <i>The Interview</i>’s cancellation with humour. Oscar-winning filmmaker Michael Moore (<a href="https://twitter.com/MMFlint">@MMFlint</a>) got right to the point:</div><div>Dear Sony Hackers: now that u run Hollywood, I'd also like less romantic comedies, fewer Michael Bay movies and no more Transformers.Michael Moore</div><div>Oh, hackers, one more thing - I lost like $180K on "Canadian Bacon". Can u do the opposite of what u just did & get it back IN to theaters?Michael Moore</div><div>Also, Sony Hackers - I really liked Tyler Perry in "Gone Girl" so hold off on doing anything yet with Madea.Michael Moore</div><div>Comedic actor Albert Brooks (<a href="https://twitter.com/AlbertBrooks%20">@AlbertBrooks</a>) took a parallel tack:</div><div>City of Atlanta demands all remaining prints of gone with the wind be destroyedAlbert Brooks</div><div>And Zach Braff (<a href="https://twitter.com/zachbraff%20">@zachbraff</a>) attempted to mine laughs from the situation with this:</div><div>There goes my Hitler comedy.Zach Braff</div><div>But the former <i>Scrubs</i> star got more serious minutes later: </div><div>Canceling "The Interview" seems like a pretty horrible precedent to set.Zach Braff</div><div>But then:</div><div>There's only one man on Earth who can solve this: https://t.co/dodZXQJyzWZach Braff</div>
