Hotel employee who leaked Jay Z and Solange video fired Add to ...

All aspiring TMZ contributors take heed: That candid celebrity video clip could cost you a job.

The New York hotel where security footage of the alleged brawl between Jay Z and Solange Knowles took place has fired the person who recorded and released the video, reports the Associated Press.

The Standard Hotel says the unidentified person has been released from their employ “for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV [closed-circuit television] video.”

Released by TMZ on Monday, the startling three-minute video was allegedly filmed last week inside a Standard Hotel elevator.

In the three-minute video, a woman who appears to be Solange Knowles, the younger sister of Beyoncé, viciously attacking Jay Z in Beyoncé’s presence. A security guard eventually intervenes to break up the attack.

The footage shows all three celebrities wearing the same outfits they wore to the Met Gala on the same evening. There is no audio on the footage.

Earlier this week, the Standard released a statement saying it was “shocked and disappointed” by the breach of security. On Wednesday, the hotel announced its intention to turn over “all available information to criminal authorities.”

So far, Jay Z, Beyoncé or Solange have not spoke publicly of the video clip’s release.

Beyoncé and Jay Z, who married in 2008 and are parents to daughter Blue Ivy, will launch their co-headlining On the Run Tour on June 25 in Miami.
