Meg Ryan has joined the cast of the How I Met Your Mother spinoff, albeit in an unseen role. The Sleepless in Seattle star will serve as narrator for the new series How I Met Your Dad, which is slated to join CBS’s primetime lineup this fall. The 52-year-old Ryan will supply the voice of “future Sally” in the spinoff, just as Bob Saget provided the voice of future Ted (Josh Radnor) for nine seasons of HIMYM. Greta Gerwig and Tiyar Sicar have already signed on for fulltime roles on How I Met Your Dad.
Beyoncé graces the cover of Time’s 100 Most Influential People issue. The annual issue features Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg interviewing the pop diva, who says, “[Being in Time] is something important for me as an artist because it’s not about fashion or beauty or music; it’s about the influence I’ve had on culture. To be among other influential people is a huge honour for me.” The issue also includes Pharrell Williams being interviewed by Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus being interviewed by Dolly Parton and Robin Wright being interviewed by Naomi Watts.
HBO is going into business with Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling. The bestselling author will partner with the U.S. cable channel and BBC to produce a three-hour miniseries version of her novel The Casual Vacancy. Released in 2012, Vacancy was the first novel from Rowling following the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The premise takes place in the seemingly idyllic English village of Pagford, where the inhabitants are quietly at war with each over over a wide range of modern issues. No casting decisions have been announced for the TV version, which is scheduled to begin filming this summer in Britain.

George Clooney and casino magnate had a heated argument on the subject of politics. According to reports, a recent dinner between the actor and the hotel-casino developer turned into an expletive-laden donnybrook after Wynn began criticizing the merits of U.S. President Barack Obama. In a statement issued to The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Clooney said the argument involved multiple “adjectives and adverbs” and “had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character.” Wynn told the paper that Clooney “got drunk” from tequila shots and stormed off after saying the F-word.

Mark Zuckerberg has been immortalized in wax. The London-based wax museum Madame Tussauds unveiled a life-sized wax version of the Facebook founder on Wednesday alongside two other celebrity effigies: Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna. The Zuckerberg likeness took 20 artists nearly four months to create and features the young billionaire barefoot and sitting lotus-style in a chair with a laptop computer. Madame Tussauds has previously created wax versions of tech kingpins Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.
