‘It has so much cultural significance but also so much personal significance,’ Lena Dunham says of Archie Comics.ALEX GALLARDO/Reuters

GIRLS COMIC

Lena Dunham knows how to write about life in New York and the perils of navigating relationships, but can she pen meaningful dialogue for Archie and Jughead? The Girls creator and star has been commissioned to create a four-part series of Archie Comics. Dunham's storyline will follow Archie Andrews and his eternal-teen pals as they get involved with a new reality show filming in their fictional hometown of Riverdale. And nobody had to twist Dunham's arm to take the job. "I was an avid Archie collector as a kid – conventions, first editions that I kept in plastic sleeves, the whole shebang," Dunham said in a statement. "It has so much cultural significance but also so much personal significance." The Dunham issues are slated to go on sale in mid-2015.

"We won't be back for season two," McConaughey said this week. "Season one was finite." Created and written by Nic Pizzolatto, True Detective was planned as a short-run anthology series consisting of eight chapters, with the final instalment airing March 8. PHOTO DOH!

Matt Groening has taken to Twitter to tell the truth behind last weekend's hugely popular Oscar selfie. The Simpsons creator posted an animated version of the picture to his Twitter account depicting Simpsonized versions of Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt and others rudely shoving Homer Simpson out of the picture (lensman Bradley Cooper even has his foot on Homer's head). Groening also posted the comment, "The ugly true story of that Oscar selfie can finally be told! Let's break Twitter again. Look for Bart." The original selfie broke Twitter records last Sunday night when it was retweeted more than three-million times.
