Let them eat cake? It’s unlikely Kevin O’Leary has endeared himself to the working stiff with his reaction to the recent report that the world’s 85 richest people control wealth equal to that of the entire planet’s population. O’Leary responded to the Oxfam report on Wednesday’s edition of The Lang and O’Leary Exchange on CBC News Network by saying that he felt the report was “a great thing.” In O’Leary’s view: “It inspires everybody, gets them motivation to look up to the one per cent and say, ‘I want to become one of those people. I’m going to fight hard to get to the top.’ This is fantastic news and of course I applaud it. What can be wrong with this?”
DESPERATE TO ACT
How badly did Jonah Hill want to appear in the Oscar-nominated film The Wolf of Wall Street? He agreed to work for minimum wage. Hill, who also received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his portrayal of a duplicitous stockbroker in Wolf, revealed that he worked for the minimum Screen Actor’s Guild rate for the fact-based biopic directed by Martin Scorsese. “They gave me the lowest amount of money possible, that was their offer,” Hill said on The Howard Stern Show this week. Hill claims he received “something like $60,000 before commission and taxes” to appear in the film.
Arnold Schwarzenegger showed his prankish side this week by dressing up in disguise to surprise patrons of a gym in Venice, Calif. The former Mr. Olympia and movie-action star donned a fake mustache to play a character named Howard, who wandered around a Gold’s Gym and barked orders at people working out. Schwarzenegger premiered the prank video during his “Ask Me Anything” Reddit forum on Wednesday. Since being transferred to YouTube, the video has generated more than 1.2 million views.

Carrie Fisher has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Star Wars movie reboot. The actress, who portrayed Princess Leia in the original 1977 version of Star Wars, recently revealed that her character would reappear in the planned seventh instalment in the series, which is set to start filming in the spring. “I’d like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again, but with white hair,” Fisher said. “I think that would be funny.”
