LOOKING FOR CLUES

Everybody needs a hobby, but why is Courtney Love so obsessed with the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370? The musician and former wife of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has undertaken a personal search for the missing airliner and regularly providing updates on Twitter in recent days. Earlier this week, Love tweeted a map of the region where the flight was believed to have disappeared along with the comment, “really? look closer? MH370 and its like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they ‘last’ tracked it.” Talking later to New York magazine, Love admitted, “Yeah, I went to the satellite site and just uploaded tons and tons of pictures. I really doubt aliens took it. It’s got to be somewhere. I’m a little obsessive.”

KEEPING IT CLEAN

Attention, parents: Don’t fret about any “wardrobe malfunctions” by Candace Cameron Bure on Dancing With the Stars. The former Full House regular and devout Christian says she won’t be wearing any skimpy costumes when she competes in the reality dancing competition with professional partner Mark Ballas. “I’m not gonna be your sexy girl,” said Bure, 37, in an interview earlier this week. “I’m a mom of three kids, so I want to look good and feel beautiful, but I will probably stay on the more modest end of costuming.”

NEW CUB

Kate Winslet says there’s a perfectly logical reason why she named her new baby son Bear Blaze. Appearing on Tuesday’s edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the British actress, whose third husband’s name is Ned Rocknroll, told DeGeneres she loved the name Bear because a close friend of hers was nicknamed Bear “and I just had always really loved it,” she said. “He was very much a bear, he was everybody’s shoulder to cry on, he was a big bear hug. He was just this great figure in my life.”

CARY VS. KERMIT

In Tina Fey’s opinion, Kermit the Frog rates right up there with Cary Grant as a leading man. The former 30 Rock star spoke admiringly of her co-star in the press junket for the upcoming feature Muppets Most Wanted and claims Kermit ranks among the most dashing men (amphibians, actually) in cinema history. “You can’t do any better,” she said. “Cary Grant is dead, so you can’t do any better than that.” When asked to compare Kermit to her former male co-stars, including Steve Carell and Adam Baldwin, Fey said, “He’s much smaller, but I would say equally as charismatic.”
