Shannen Doherty appears on NBC News' Today show in 2010Peter Kramer

Shannen Doherty has come out hugging in response to being called a temperamental diva by Jason Priestley.

The famously short-tempered actress went on Twitter to share her opinion on views expressed by her former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star in his new memoir, which lands in book stores tomorrow.

In advance excerpts from Jason Priestley: A Memoir released last week, Priestley recalled an occasion in 1990 when the pair were booked to fly to New York together on a private jet to promote the series.

As Priestley recalls, Doherty allegedly expressed displeasure at the food, the flight, the cabin temperature and the fact she was transported to the airport in a town car and not a limousine.

The excerpt obviously came to the attention of Doherty (@DohertyShannen), who demonstrated rare restraint in her Twitter response: "Memoirs are so funny. The truth is rarely told, after all they are trying to sell a book."

Weirdly, the two former castmates then indulged each other in a Twitter love-fest that began with Priestley (@Jason_Priestley) tweeting, "I do not 'unload' on Shannen in my memoir … Shannen's departure from the show was a sad event for me…" (Doherty left 90210 after the show's fourth season in 1994).

Which prompted Doherty to tweet: "Jason is a great guy who I wish well and remember fondly. Hope you're doing great."

To which Priestley responded: "You too Shannen. You know I've got nothing but love for you."

In other words, there are currently no hard feelings between Doherty and Priestley – but given the recent turmoil in the life of Tori Spelling and the sudden career upsurge of Ian Ziering, the next Beverly Hills, 90210 reunion special should be extremely interesting.
