How can I get rid of my tan lines? Add to ...

The question: I find tan lines extremely unattractive, yet every year I am unable to avoid them. What can I do to minimize their appearance?

The answer: I prefer to think of my tan lines as antidotes to those months in which heavy sweaters and rain boots were a daily uniform, but, if you just can't stand yours, there are a few solutions. First, try changing whatever item of clothing you notice has caused the tan line. If we're talking swimsuits that tie around the neck and shoulders, try a strapless bikini top. If, however, you're looking to fix the problem after it has occurred, try using a self tanner or a professional spray tan on the areas that need to "catch up" to the rest of your tanned skin.
