How can I look my best in a backless dress?

From Saturday's Globe and Mail

The question

I just picked up a stunning backless cocktail dress and am looking to wear it to an upcoming party, but I’m worried about how my back will appear in it. Any suggestions on what I can do to have it look its best?

The answer

Outside of a few push-ups to tone your arms and a great low-back bra to properly show off your assets, I think you could also benefit from a daily routine of exfoliation, moisturizing and a gradual self-tanner. Exfoliate your back once a day in the shower using a loofah with a handle to slough off any dead skin, then use an unscented body moisturizer like Consonant Body’s Organic Body Lotion. It contains grape seed and avocado oil, which are both powerful antioxidants that will help keep your skin smooth, hydrated and healthy. To finish, apply a gradual self-tanner every two days. You won’t have to worry about any streaking as the colour will build slowly. Start this routine now, so your back will be perfectly polished by the time your party rolls around.
