AHAVA Dermud Intensive Foot Cream

The promise

Harnessing the therapeutic properties of the Dead Sea, this easily absorbed foot cream treats, soothes and protects rough, dry and cracked skin and is suitable for sensitive skin.

The ingredients

The AHAVA brand is known for its patented Osmoter blend of minerals derived from the Dead Sea, which are clinically proven to optimize cell metabolism, protect from UV damage and significantly increase moisture.

Paired with the product's leave-on mud formulation (also from the Dead Sea), as well as hypophea, aloe vera and shea butter extracts, the cream nourishes and repairs skin. It's also paraben-free.

How to use it

Massage into feet until fully absorbed. For a more intensive treatment, apply at night before bed, then put on socks.

The bottom line

I'm a runner (yes, I ventured out that one time last month) and consistently use my feet for other feats such as walking, so my delicate little dogs can get very dry. Add to that an amped-up social schedule that involves hours of wearing high heels as I try to squeeze in as much frolic as possible before winter descends and you've got a recipe for podiatric disaster. This product, however, laughed in the face of my active lifestyle and nourished my dry toes and cracked heels with the natural embrace of million-year-old minerals. Evidently, Dead Sea mud, like wine, gets better with age.

It's something of a miracle source – the mud, not the wine, although that too has its wondrous attributes – and in this foot cream, it works to moisturize the roughest skin, repairing it almost instantly. It may even inspire me to put on those running shoes more often.
