The question

I have blue-green eyes, brown hair and a pale complexion. What eyeshadow colours would suit me best?

The answer

You are straddling a fun line when it comes to colours, thanks to your blue-green eyes. When choosing a shadow, you can either play up the blue or green, or highlight both colours at once.

Back in grade school, we were taught that opposite hues on the colour wheel contrast and therefore make each other stand out. The opposite of blue is orange and the opposite of green is red. So (opting for light-to-medium shades to suit your skin tone), a peachy-orange shadow such as Joe Fresh's Apricot shade will make those baby blues pop.

If you're in the mood to bring out the green, you could try CoverGirl's Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Red-Hot, which is a medium-toned pink. Alternatively, you can combine soft, neutral shades of champagne or gold with pearlescent pink to complement both colours in your eyes.
