L'Occitane Amande Elegant Legs

The promise

An anti-fatigue and toning mist, this product is specially formulated to relieve heavy and tired legs, providing deep sensations of freshness, lightness and well-being.

How it works

The brand recently enriched its existing Amande line with almond-bud extract, a new active ingredient. It's rich in flavonoids and known to stimulate microcirculation, which improves lymphatic drainage and reduces the appearance of cellulite. It also contains chestnut-tree extract and cypress essential oil to improve skin's elasticity, menthol for immediate and long-lasting freshness, and silicium to firm the skin.

How to use it

Spray liberally on tired, hot or swollen legs and allow to dry. Reapply as needed. Not to be used by pregnant women.

The bottom line

Oh, those nutty Europeans. They're always complaining about feeling heavy or bloated or overwhelmed with ennui. In their defense, though, inelegant legs are considered a major faux pas on the Mediterranean. Strange and unlikely as this product may sound, it does help alleviate the fatigued and swollen sensations that can overcome legs in the summer heat. I didn't see any firming or toning benefits, but the refreshing menthol instantly cools legs, and it leaves behind a pretty sheen, soft skin and a delicate, woody scent. At a conveniently compact 100 millilitres, it's the perfect item to stash in your carryon and spritz on legs in-flight or after landing for an instant perk-me-up. Then deal with your ennui beachside.
