I'm interested in at-home beauty solutions. Do you have a recipe for a simple yet effective at-home face mask?"

Kitchen-cupboard masks are my favourite because you can do them on the cheap and they are indeed effective.

Among the best at-home mask staples are oatmeal, honey and apples: Oatmeal calms irritated skin, honey combats bacteria and hydrates skin and apples are packed with the antioxidants skin needs to regenerate and stay healthy.

Try the following pair of recipes incorporating these ingredients.

For a soothing and hydrating mask, mix 1/4 cup of ground oatmeal (not instant) with 1/4 cup of water and 2 teaspoons of honey. Apply to the skin and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water and pat dry. For an antioxidant mask, grate half an apple, combine it with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply to the skin for 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water and pat dry. Applying these masks can be pretty messy, so consider doing so while relaxing in the tub, making cleaning up quick and easy.
