The question

I suffer from eye problems that often leave me with inflamed eyes and the surrounding skin in a pinkish hue. Are there shadow tones I can use to minimize this?

The answer

Before you go ahead and smother the area in makeup, I hope you're using a soothing eye cream to calm the redness. Something with anti-inflammatory ingredients (such as rose oil) will help ease the irritation.

Skin care aside, let's talk, for this problem, elementary colour theory. On the colour wheel, green is the opposite of red and, when the two are combined, they cancel each other out. This means that using a green shadow will help neutralize any redness. Try a yellow-ish green to deep-green shade and you'll end up softening the pink or red that's around your eyes.
