DONNA KARAN
Love or hate the holiday, you can't fault Donna Karan for bringing
Valentine's Day on early: Monday¹s show was a romantic ode to her late
husband, Stephan Weiss. Weiss passed away in 2001, but he still remains
very much a part of the Karan DNA (he did help start the business).
Striking a balance between her work and his, draping and form were
buzzwords here - as was my new favourite portmanteau, something called
a "bodyjacket" - in gauzy jerseys against haircalf capes and dropped
shoulder coats. Where the collection lacked imagination at repetitive
times, it made up for in artistry when it came to fabrics. Oxidized

ZERO + MARIA CORNEJO
Call it a case of Nintendostalgia. When Maria Cornejo's Tetris-y
jacquards made their exits on Monday night, they weren't the first
references to retro gaming. If three's a trend, we can add Atari at
Scott Sternberg¹s Band of Outsiders and Legend of Zelda at Calla as examples.
(And, maybe point to the designers' age gap, but that's beside the
point). Anyway, Cornejo's take played out well in wools and those
jacquards, one-upped only by glittery-sheer black fabric in a jumpsuit

MARC JACOBS
With fluffy hair and vacant stares, it¹s almost like the models at Marc
by Marc Jacobs were cast as Jacqueline Susann characters at a disco.
There was a suggested indulgence in the shades used - cabernet,
bordeaux, cognac - basically all the colours of the liquor cabinet were
listed in the show notes. Jacobs' mixed prep with prints, too, most
notably in flannel plaid double breasted coats and a trippy striped
rose on blouses and dresses. In his hands, I guess, it was a delicate
