Think leather tees and you think superheroes or Last of the Mohicans. This fall, though, shiny hides clean up and move inside thanks to labels such as Céline, which championed slick leather uppers as the season's new basic - even at the office. Here are a few things to remember before suiting up for the workplace.

1) Leather can be toasty, but don't sweat it. Look for lighter weights that will keep you feeling cool during the day. Alternatively, you can opt for tops with wool or cotton back panels - like our version - to beat the heat.

2) Work with the shirt's sharp line by pairing it with unfussy separates and skipping big accessories - this look doesn't need much. Think long skirts and riding boots or tailored trousers and kitten-heel pumps.

3) Don't pair one great leather piece with more leather. Instead, stick to textured winter fabrics such as wool to keep it boardroom-appropriate.
