Party photos of the week: Angel Ball Gala
'This is exactly like Grey's Anatomy!' I thought to myself, as I watched real doctors (not McDreamy and McSteamy) act out a trauma scene at St. Michael's Hospital Foundation's Angel Ball Gala. The glitzy hospital fundraiser, held every three years, raised $3.29-million for research in nursing, trauma and kidney transplants. Angels on stilts (sadly, not the Victoria's Secret angels) glided around the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, paying homage to St. Mike's, Toronto's "urban angel." John Tory emceed, Chef Angelo Fernandes cooked his signature beef tenderloin ragout, and 1,500 guests were treated to a surprise performance by Canadian singers Camille Delean and DK Ibomeka. A special shout out to Patrick and Barbara Keenan - these philanthropic visionaries have donated over $20 million to St. Michael's Hospital over the past 20 years.
